Tight pelvic floor? Try this below šš¼ Did you know kegels might be making your pelvic floor crankier? Ditch the kegels and try some foam rolling! Itās such a game changer in every way. Knowledge is power. The more we educate ourselves about our own bodies the more we can let go of fears and dive into healing. Myofascial release is one of the best ways to relax the pelvic floor. Myofascial release uses deep pressure massage to help increase flexibility or the muscles and release tension and stress. The pelvic floor is connected to your inner thighs so massaging them gentle with a foam roller daily can help so much to release tension in the pelvic floor. Hereās a super fun 15min workout for the pelvic floor, core, glutes and legs! Glute and leg strength is key for stability and pelvic floor health. By the way, im not here for the aesthetics goals, nor do I practice yoga for pretty poses, outside shapes or workout for that, but rather to feel good, release happy hormones, feel strong, inner awareness, body connection, selflove and to have a functional, mobile, pain free, resilient body! Moving our bodies should feel good and not like a chore. Iām 43 yrs old, a full time mom, with 2 children, and also working full time! I donāt have time for 2hr practices and work outs anymore as in my 20ās. But I do spend time for myself everyday to connect to my body, trust me little goes a long way! The important thing is consistency. I am human, not perfect, nor I strive to look 20 at 43, nor to look anything but how I do. I love my body as it is, with all the stories it tells, the places itās been and all the beautiful reminders that we are alive! Our power and beauty comes not from our age or the way we look but rather from how we feel. Thatās the shit that shines through! And yes, thereās always room for goals and growing. But I have loose skin, saggy boobs, cellulite, stretch marks, sun spots, and all the things! And, I still rock my booty shorts because I want to and I celebrate my resilient beautiful body that gives me so much. And I hope you do to! Of course nothing is a quick fix or a magical cure but addressing an imbalance in your pelvic floor could start with your feet!!! Gentle reminder everything is connected āØš«¶š» The pelvic floor has a direct connection to the small muscles of the feet through the deep front fascial line. From the pelvic floor through the hip adductor and the muscle of the lower leg into the big toe, we get stability from the ground up. The flexors of the toes help to anchor the toes to the ground and help to lift the arch of the foot In order to have a strong suppprted pelvis we need strong feet!! Our feet are our foundation! We build our foundation from the ground up. Weak foundation, problems with your structure. Healthy feet are the literal foundation to a strong and healthy: Body alignment Pelvic floor Core Movement functionality The reality is that everything in your body is interconnected, and tightness anywhere in the chain can create strain elsewhere in the body, impacting muscles, joints, and ligaments. Try this calf raise exercise on a towel to strengthen your feet. Make sure you are not crunching your toes but lengthening your plantar fascia. Press your big toe on the towel and lift!
