Replying to @Julie Fürstenberg wintercamping in full exposure. Im cozy warm in my tipi during blizzards so it doesnt make sense to camp in a hole. Especially when you consider the fact that bad weather isnt sustained through winter. It comes in waves. Id be miserable all winter long if i took advice from folks that never camped through winter. Ive been living this way so long that these things have become very obvious. Nature demands you think many steps ahead.
