Simple Potato Soup! Cozy, creamy, and easy to customize! 12 ounce package of bacon, Chopped 1 diced onion 1/4 cup all purpose flour 4 cups chicken stock Salt & pepper to taste 4 to 5 cups peeled & diced potatoes 1 & 1/2 cups of milk or cream Toppings: Cheese, Bacon, Sour cream In a large pot fry the bacon until crispy. Remove, drain, and add back in about 1/4 cup of the bacon fat (butter or oil can be swapped out for the bacon fat). Sautee diced onion until soft. Stir in 1/4 cup of all purpose flour to make a roux, cook for 2 to 3 minutes until lightly golden. Slowly whisk in 4 cups of chicken stock, stirring until smooth. Season to taste with salt & pepper for a classic baked potato flavor. Simple Sweet Corn Chowder You will need: 4 to 5 medium sized potatoes (or frozen cubed hashbrown potatoes) 1 large onion 1 package of bacon 2 cans of cream style corn 1 can of whole kernel corn 1 carton of chicken broth Half & Half or Heavy Cream S&P To Taste Peel and dice the potatoes (keep in water to prevent oxidation while you prepare the rest of the ingredients). Peel and dice 1 large onion and chop 1 package of bacon. In a large soup pot, brown the bacon until it's crispy. Remove the bacon pieces but leave the bacon fat in the pot. Add the chopped onion, and potatoes, and add just enough chicken broth to cover the potatoes. Add 2 cans of cream style corn, and 1 can of whole kernel corn. Bring this to a boil, then cover and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender. Add back in the bacon along with 1 & 1/2 cups of half and half or heavy cream. No-Bake Pretzel Peanut Butter Bars All Ingredients Available at Dollar Tree! You will need: 1 Graham cracker pie crust (broken) $1.25 1 jar of creamy peanut butter $1.25 1 stick butter/margarine $1.25 1 cup of powdered sugar $1.25 2 milk chocolate bars $2.50 Mini Pretzels $1.25 Makes 25 bars, total cost $8.75 Line a square baking dish with a sheet of wax paper or parchment paper. If using a pie crust, crumble it into crumbs. If using graham crackers, pulse in a bender or food processor until finely crushed. Add 1 stick of butter or margarine into a microwave safe bowl along with 1 cup of creamy peanut butter. Microwave this for 1 minute and stir until smooth. Mix in 1 cup of graham cracker crumbs, and 1 cup of powdered sugar. Add this into the baking dish and smooth it out. In the same bowl, add an additional 2 tablespoons of peanut butter and both chocolate bars, broken down into smaller pieces. Microwave on 30 second bursts, stirring between each burst until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Pour this on top, finish with a layer of mini pretzels. Panda Express "Sweetfire" Chicken at Home You will need: 1 large chicken breast cut into small bite sized pieces 1/2 cup of all purpose flour To make the wet batter mix: 1 cup of flour 3 tablespoons of corn starch 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup of water Oil for Frying (Vegetable, peanut, or canola) 1 Red bell pepper chopped into 1/2 inch pieces 1 Onion chopped into 1/2 inch pieces 1 Can pineapple chunks (drained) 1 bottle of thai sweet chili sauce Dredge the chicken pieces in flour, then prepare the wet batter. Preheat the oil for frying over medium to medium high heat. Dunk 8 to 10 pieces of chicken in the wet batter and fry in oil for 3 minutes tossing every minute or so to ensure even browning. Transfer chicken to a wire rack or paper towels until all of the chicken is cooked. Once all of the chicken is cooked sautee the peppers and onions in a skillet over medium high heat for 1 minute, add drained pineapple and sautee 1 minute more. Add chicken and thai chili sauce and sautee until everything is hot and bubbly.
