How I Destroyed a Favorite Paintbrush. 👩‍🎨💔🖌 I typically take super, meticulously good care of my art supplies, which is how I get years and and decades out of them. But I'm human, and I make mistakes lol. Funny thing is, I treasured it so much that I typically never used it for plein air painting, where brushes tend to get a little more damaged, being outdoors. But on this occasion, I was painting a wood pole. Since I was painting such a large area compared to my normal paintings, I needed a bigger brush. And so I grabbed this one, one of my favorite "home" paintbrushes, because it is one of the biggest brushes I own. I should have known better than to bring a favorite brush outdoors. After accidentally plowing over it with my car, I can't explain the remorse and guilt I felt. I know it's just a paintbrush, but it's been with me for years. I think it's more special than my newer brushes because it was there with me when I was just starting out...when my paintings were sloppy and fuzzy and I knew nothing about color matching. This incident brought me to reinforce my commitment to take good care of my art supplies. Now I have a pretty strict regimine where I make sure all of my supplies are safely tucked in my car before I leave a color match site. Lessons learned the hard way lol.
