🧞‍♀️Root Blending: lavender to Magenta edition ⚡️ creative colorists! You know it better than anybody… We often have to go from dark direct dyes to light and because of all the back-and-forth sometimes there can be uneven spots in your client’s canvas ⚡️ I am a big believer in making sure my clients integrity of their hair remains my number one goal and therefore typically never pull lightener back over previously lightened hair when it comes to creative color overlay ⚡️ this means I am often using the previous fade to determine my new color placement options ⚡️ pay close attention during application// you can see exactly the saturation and tone that you are going to get as an end result when applying the color through the hair… if your direct dye is not covering up the unwanted, underlying pigment when the hair is processing, it will not cover up the underlying pigment as an end result. ⚡️ often times I need to add more depth or saturation to a color to ensure the amount of deposit desired ⚡️ in this video, the client wanted lavender through the crown, but also wanted pink… I chose to keep lavender in the roots, so I’ll have a better fade/canvas next time.
