Let’s talk building healthy habits. To do this I use the habit loop. I was inspired by @Shelby Sacco In 2022, when I was at my lowest and suffering from severe depression and anxiety and couldn’t leave my bed. ☁️ I built in one healthy habit a day. 🩵My cue- the first half an hour of the day 🩵 my routine - doing my skincare 🩵 my reward- a sit down with a hot drink, and a sense of achievement. I had achieved one thing that day. Even if that was the only thing I achieved that day. ☁️ Over time I built this up to 4 things that I do each morning ✨ skincare ✨ make my bed (you are less likely to get back into bed if it is made) ✨brush my hair ✨ light a wax melt (the smell soothes me) At the moment, I am working on opening my curtains each day. This is tricky when it is dark when I get ready and dark when I get home. ☁️ using the habit loop creates healthy habits that become automatic behaviours. This sets me up for my day and even if I achieve nothing else that day.
