Hatching shipped eggs is always a gamble because hatch rates can be all over the place. I have a friend that has her own bloodline of buttons so we trade eggs to increase genetic diversity in our flocks sometimes. This hatch rate was typical, so I’m happy I have 12 new baby buttons to welcome to my flock!
