And let me tell you why ⬇️ A lot of people are unaware of the fact that glass candle jars can’t be recycled. I myself only stumbled upon this shocking fact around 10 months ago. I can’t begin to tell you the array of mixed emotions this made me feel but mainly I felt like a fraud. I prided myself on running an eco friendly business and although our candle refills had been at the centre of my business since may 2020, I couldn’t shake this guilt my business had played in damaging the environment and the uk recycling system. So I made the decision there and then to make a change. I decided my business would be the one to change the way the candle industry is done and turn it on its head and stop the negative impact it plays on our environment. In the that short time, we’ve been subjected to quite a lot of online abuse whenever we say “glass candle jars can’t be placed in your local recycling bin”. Which still to this day shocks me. But it’s not all bad. We have educated people and we are making a change however we’ve not even scratched the surface. So if you didn’t know (where have you been 🤣🤣) you cannot put your glass candle jar in your glass recycling bin. They’re made from a different type of glass making them heat resistant. Not only can they not be recycled by your local council but by disposing of them incorrectly actually leads to contamination of perfectly good recyclable glass. Waste all round. Remember if you’re not going to reuse your candle jar (we highly recommend our candle refills 😘) then simply pop your jar in the general waste bin.
