‼️EXPECTING FIRST TIME MOMS‼️ Make sure the L&D nurses and doctors put your newborn under the incubator; unfortunately our facility neglected us heavily. My duaghter came home from L&D jaundice with Bilirubin levels pushing 17%. The doctors knew this and still sent us home freshly postpartum without incubating her or providing her a bili-blanket. I brought her levels down to 14% by myself just with breastfeeding and woaking her in sunlight. As mich as i brag about how great my labor was, there were still things that were hard and traumatic. My birth was better than most but no birthing experience is perfect and every birth comes with trauma even if the labor was easy. What’s not easy is having strangers touch you and judge you, what’s not easy is going through labor and seeing your partner just “watch” and not have to experience the same pain as you, what’s not easy is feeling like a failure or crybaby because you’re feeling this way.
