Its Autism and SA awareness month. Did you know aΓΌtΓ―stic people (especially youth) are 3-4x more likely than allistic people to experience ΕA? Myself being one of them, who is now an adult and carries immense trΔuma. In fact, 40-50% of aΓΌt!stic adults report experiences of Ε A during childhood. Id be interested to know the stats of aΓΌtistic adults who experience Ε A in adulthood, like myself - due to being taking advantage of by people and so called friends because you struggle with intentions and cues even in adulthood. A lot of my relationships were incredibly trΓ€uma coded for that exact reason.

7 months and is learning/generalizing some really nice leash manners βΊοΈ dgmw he still has some work to do in certain scenarios but this is GREAT improvement, especially since he hasnt been able to go on long walks for a while! The transitions weve had to make to get here have been challenging but so worth it. He has so much drive and energy now that hes hit adolescence and sometimes he cant think straight! Harnesses did NOT help, they only encouraged his pulling. He would wuite literally ch0ke himself out on his regular collar and slip lead and he got so frustrated and uncomfortable in the halty - my mentor/boss encouraged me to give the prong a try. I was extremely hesistant as i was not well educated on them and felt they were going to hvrt him! But they explained to me and taught me how a prong ACTUALLY works and how to use one. No pulling or yanking needed AT ALL, you only need little wrist movements, and the dog teaches THEMSELVES. You can see here he can think straight, make good decisions and hes free to do what he wants! Its all about just being there as a guide. Im so glad i didnt let my own preconceived notions about prongs get in the way, because its helped Chucho SO MUCH. Aside from that, i have servere arthritis in my hands - i cant handle intense pulling or having to yank on the leash. The prong has literally saved my hands from so much pain and help with training so much as i do not have to use a lot of hand strength π«#leashtraining #dogtraining #sdit
