You make one by scanning your face with the device, and it creates a digital floating head that mimics your real face… People have been making some fun of these because they don’t look real by any means. But to be fair, both Apple and Meta’s avatars now are much better than few years ago. If any of these companies can make full body digital avatars that feel real, then this kind of tech is the most direct path to a totally sci-fi ability I never thought I’d see in real life: Being able to jump to another place instantly… or bring people to me… which is also called… digital teleportation.
