🤳 The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no screen time for babies under 18 months, with one important exception: live video chats. Because they allow your baby to have the kind of back-and-forth live conversation so critical to language development, the AAP says video chats are OK. ✅ Here are three tips for a meaningful video call: ⏰ Find the right time and keep it short. Since video chatting requires your baby to sit and focus, set expectations for a short call and aim for a time when your baby is less likely to be hungry, tired, or restless. 🕺🏻You interact too. Your baby will pay more attention to the person on the screen if you’re participating too. 👀 Help the conversation come alive. Ask family and friends to be animated: wave, make faces, and use exaggerated gestures. Your baby can only use two of their senses on a video call—seeing and hearing—so you can help make an interaction come alive with lots of movement. #lovevery #screentime #montessoribaby #montessoritoddler #parenting #playtolearn #earlychildhooddevelopment #earlychildhoodeducation #burp #Lovevery #grandparents #family #extendedfamily

Try these 4 simple ways to encourage your child’s interest in music! 🎶 (You don’t need to be a musician, just keep things simple and experiment with your child to create sounds—like @ambernmasters little one does in this video.) 1️⃣🎵Get your little one moving to a beat. Dance or sway to music as you hold them or while they stand on the tops of your feet. 2️⃣🥁Offer them real instruments. Introduce a variety of age-appropriate options, like shakers and small drums or the Color Tab Pan Flute and Pentatonic Pat Bells from The Lovevery Music Set (recommended for 18 months and up). 3️⃣🎤Follow your child's lead. Give them open-ended freedom to experiment with making sounds. 4️⃣🎹 Incorporate music into daily routines. Sing lullabies at bedtime, clap to background music at the grocery store, drum a rhythm on an oatmeal carton at breakfast, and rub your wet fingers back and forth on the edge of the tub at bath time. You can shop The Lovevery Music Set by clicking on this post at the link in our bio and start making music with your little one. 🌈 #Lovevery #LearnThroughMusic #ChildDevelopment #Parenting #ParentTips #BabyMusic

Making small adjustments can have a huge impact on your baby’s tummy time! 💪 Instead of placing them directly on their belly, try easing them into the position by rolling them in and out of it. This not only helps them adjust to tummy time but also teaches them the patterns of rolling. Reduce the amount you help them roll as they start trying to roll on their own 🌟 👶 Start with frequent short tummy time sessions each day. Your baby will gradually work up to longer stints. Keeping their elbows tucked under them or propping their chest up with a rolled towel at first can make lifting their head a bit easier for them. If you're looking for more help with tummy time, check out The Tummy Time Course Pack through the link in our bio! 🥰 The course explains what tummy time looks like at different stages, how often to offer it and for how long, and how to make tummy time a happy, stress-free experience. How long does your baby usually spend in tummy time each day? @Baby.feeding.development #Lovevery #TummyTime #NewbornTips #Parenting #BabyIdeas #NewParents #Newborn

Why should you start reading to your baby today? 🤔📚 Here are three reasons to begin: 🧠✨ Children who are regularly exposed to language and books in early infancy develop higher IQs and better language fluency. 🗣️🔤 Books may introduce your baby to vocabulary words, rhymes, rhythms, and language structures that they may not be exposed to during everyday conversations between people around them. 🥰📖 Reading time = cozy time. Establishing a cuddly reading routine helps your baby associate books with the comfort of your voice and being close to you. This sets the stage for your child to develop a love of reading. It's okay if your baby isn't interested in reading at first. Even if a book holds their attention for less than a minute, continue to read each day. Keep it playful, and follow your child’s lead. Whether they want to flip pages or chew on the book, they’re still learning. Try reading face-to-face with them so they can see how your mouth moves while you read. Our board books are designed with your child’s development in mind. Shop them now with The Play Kits through the link in our bio.🌟 #Lovevery #EarlyLearning #ReadingTime #Parenting #ParentTip #ReadToBaby #BabyBooks #PlayToLearn #PlayKits
