The beautiful melody of the Welsh accent! When preparing to come to the UK, you should expose your ears to a range of accents found here. Particularly, Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Liverpool, Newcastle, Yorkshire, and Cornish. Once your ears can tune into these different accents then you will rarely have trouble understanding native speakers. Start with a basic understanding of Received Pronunciation (RP), considered the standard form and used in the dictionaries, and from there pay attention to how vowels shift from that base and how consonants differ.
