many dogs are overstimulated the second they're out the door. this only adds to their emotions when they see a trigger. what helped us is starting on our driveway/front lawn. most of our time outside the house consisted of me rewarding her for engagement while walking around our front lawn (and still does). I practiced multiple different commands that communicated what I wanted from her to avoid the need of pressure (this way, off, get down, come, etc). anyway, I will always cherish nala and the experience she has given me.
