The change comes as hospitalizations and deaths from Covid-19 have decreased significantly. In addition, the CDC says more than 98% of the U.S. population now has some degree of immunity against Covid-19. The Associated Press reports Covid dropped from being the third leading cause of death in the U.S. early in the pandemic down to the 10th leading cause of death last year.
