pov: you hop on the coolest train in Switzerland ✨🚂❄️ Welcome to the Gornergrat Railway! This train takes you from the centre of Zermatt all the way to the top - Gornergrat. The journey takes 24 minutes to reach the top where you’re treated to INCREDIBLE views of the Matterhorn 🏔️. However, in the winter it’s luck of the draw depending on the weather. So we had a total whiteout snow globe and couldn’t see five feet in front of us! Still, there’s something magical about the journey - not always the destination so we still had a super fun day. 🎟️ TICKET PRICES: If you have a Swiss Travel Pass it’s 46 CHF per ticket. You can buy these at any station or ahead of time. I’d recommend getting one if you’re going to do a lot of train travelling or are there for awhile as it can half the price of your journeys… but they can be very expensive (a 3 day pass is 244 CHF for one person). If you aren’t travelling much by train it can work out cheaper to not buy this. This journey without a train pass costs 92 CHF… EACH! It’s pretty expensive! Or a little tip, we went after 12:15pm and tickets were 69 CHF each. Which was a little better!
