Replying to @user9040589670019 you might think you should say lots of words to help your child learn to talk. Not true. Start by watching and listening. What is your child looking at? What do they want to do? What do they understand? What do they keep coming back to? We always start by observing. Being quiet is my superpower. When you watch what your child is excited to do and learn, you will know what gestures sounds and words will be the best ones to pick at that time. If they are looking at a doggie, you might say âhi doggie!â and pretend to bark. If theyâre looking at dada, talk about dada. If theyâre looking towards their milk, pick it up and say milk and pretend to drink. (Dont forget to say âahh,â after you take a sip just like the little boy does my forst book, The My First Learn-to-Talk Book!) Want more easy to use speech tips? This book is great because it has simple photographs of everyday objects and words that your child is likely already hearing. My best tips: đ Let your child be in the lead -you donât have to read the whole book or be in charge of it đ respond to what your child says or comment on the pictures they are looking at đImitate your childâs sounds and words đmake sounds or use simple words that go with the pages your child loves đ build reading into your daily routines, like before nap time, bedtime, or even at meals đ read with lots of excitement and animation if itâs not too overwhelming for your child sounds or use simple words that go with the pages your child loves đ on my page to all of my favorite books and a download of my tips! #boardbooks #learntotalk #firstwords #kidslit #imitation #speechtherapy #slp #cars #trucks #farmanimals #toddlermom #toddlerlife #toddlerbooks #earlyintervention #myfirstlearntotalkbook #learntotalkbook #thingsthatgo #mama #dada

Switch up your words, even if you're just talking to yourself (especially if you're thinking about it to yourself) because this helps you think, my child's doing the best they can. Sometimes the words we use can imply that it's the child's fault, that they're doing is purposeful and not behavior that we want. If we flip up our words when we're talking about them and thinking about them, then it changes our mindset into one that seeks to understand why they're having a hard time. Now you can think to yourself, âSomething is hard-they probably want to feel good and try new foods. How can I understand them and help?â And when we take that approach, theyâre going to feel it- that we understand them, we're there to help them, and we love them for who they are right now. #responsivefeeding #toddlers #pickyeater #babyledweaning #sensoryprocessing #texture #newfoods #startingsolids #anxiouseater #trust #toddlermom #toddlerparent #toddlerdad #parentingtips #familymeals #adhd #autism

Which Never Touch book is your favorite? I LOVE books with textures to touch because they draw babies and toddlers in and help them learn to love exploring pages. (đ on my page for my favorite books & more ideas for reading with your baby or toddler!) One of the best ways to support speech development is to read with your children as much as possible from the youngest age. This is one way to help your child learn to love reading! #touchandfeelbook #boardbooks #toddlerbooks #babybooks #speechtherapy #speechlanguagepathologist #kidlit #childrensbooks #earlyintervention #newparents #grandparents #newmoms #newparents #dadsoftiktok #bestkidsbooks @target

Do you have this highchair? Hereâs what I think about it. (Also, this is just one of my picks- comment âHIGHCHAIR LISTâ and Iâll send a link to all of my recs) Best highchair checklist: â
supportive seating for the youngest eaters- baby can sit upright and doesnât lean back â
an adjustable footrest (or you can DIY) â
durable â
easy to clean â
FOLDS UP âïžBonus: grows with your child so you donât have to find another one! We want babies and toddlers to be set up to be stable and safe as they learn to eat. @target #babyfood #startingsolids #babyledweaning #toddlermeals #familymeals #babyregistry #pregnancy #newmom #newparent #newdad #daycare #highchair #babygear #babymusthaves #babyregistry #newbaby #pregnancy #responsivefeeding
