Flapjacks are a regular bake don't Buy in our house, a basic recipe, so simple to make and you really can create some wonderful flavour combinations as well.....including this delicious Bakewell Flapjack. Pop a batch of these into the oven while you are cooking your evening meal and you will have Lunchbox snacks for the rest of the week. Ingredients 150g butter 120g sugar 120g golden syrup 1/4 tsp almond essence 250g oats 80g ground almonds 50g glacé Cherries Jam Icing 6 glacé Cherries to top Melt the butter, sugar and golden syrup together. Add the almond essence, oats, ground almonds and sliced Cherries. Mix and press half the mixture into a lined baking tray. Dot Jam over the mixture and top with the remaining mixture. Bake on 18p°c for 16-18 minutes. Slice while warm and allow to cool I the tray.
