🖤A typical wellness will check your blood pressure your weight, reconcile your med list and that’s about all they really care about. 🖤In an integrative visit there will be a minimum of five more things we want to know: 🖤How’s your sleep? What time do you get to bed? How often are you waking up? 🖤How’s your gut? Do you have pain or bloating? Do you have a bowel movement every day? Once? Twice? 🖤How’s your movement? How frequently are you getting outside to move? Do you sweat? Track your HRV at all? Strength training? 🖤Applies only to women but how’s your cycle? Is it regular? Red or brown? Heavy? Painless or painful? 🖤How’s your diet right now? Do you cook at home? Eat out? Pay attention to your protein and macros? Ever have concerns about balancing glucose? 🖤Find yourself a provider that care about those health metrics and you will increase your health exponentially.

🖤Women if the opinion of the @washingtonpost or the doctors they source doesn’t warn you to wake up, it’s time to pay attention. 🖤Did you know: 🖤Most women don’t trust their physicians with open arms. 🖤Only 38 percent of women compared to 48 percent of men say they’re “completely confident” in their physician. 🖤Women are more likely to find the answers they need on their own after not being taken seriously by medical professionals. 🖤Woman want to weigh opinions against each other. 🖤Forty-five percent of women say they “learn more to doublecheck” compared to 37 percent of males. 🖤12 percent of women say they always seek a second opinion, compared to 10 percent of males. 🖤Wonder why…🙃 Women, have you had to be more proactive about your health? And men you have brains. Why don’t you dig in and figure things out with your women. Care about them. If you are trusting the system to protect them you’ll be disappointed.

🖤I’m ratting myself out. I’m such a cardio bunny. But after my fifth baby and ninth pregnancy I knew I needed to bite the bullet and put some muscle back on my body. 🖤Muscle is medicine. It helps balance glucose. And once glucose is balanced we gain so much more control over our insulin, our hormones, our cortisol, our metabolism, our energy and so much more. 🖤If you have been dragging your feet or like me running miles upon miles, maybe it’s time to shift to adding weight. 🖤One last thought, some people add weights but don’t treat it much differently than a hit workout. They do low weight and more reps. To build muscle, experts say to lift heavy and fewer reps. To me I think about simulating farm life. Pulling a cow. Pushing a hay bail. Carrying a heavy pail. 🖤What’s the most “out there” exercise you’ve tried?

🖤If you have heart palpitations and you’ve never had your magnesium checked you can do one of two things: 🖤Test your level and see. You want to ask for Magnesium RBC not regular magnesium. This is because regular magnesium will show what’s in your blood not what’s in your tissues. The body keeps our blood magnesium level at a very tight range, so unless we are super dehydrated it won’t change. Quest Mag RBC test code is 623. We want that level optimal at 6.5. 🖤Just start taking magnesium. It won’t hurt you to experiment and see if it helps. I recommend approximately 5 x our body weight in mg. So if you were 100 pounds you would take 500mg. If you take too much the worst case is some loose stool and in that case you can lessen your dose a little. I like Jigsaw SRT, Mag soothe by jigsaw and Mag Complex by Nordic Naturals. Do you have a fave?
