#MedinaMondayMessage: Studenst in #duallanguage programs deserve grade-level instruction in both program languages in all content areas on a regular basis. It is a matter of linguistice equity. How else will they achieve bilingualism AND biliteracy?

This week, mi tía Ángela falleció. She was in her eighties and had lived una vida difícil desde niña. But, that didn’t stop her from filling any space with risa y alegría. As a child, when members of my extended familia called me maricón and joto, mi tía Ángela me decía —Jr., tú eres inteligente, eres especial y un día tendrás mucho éxito sin tener que cambiar quién eres. As a queer child, ella fue mi primer ally. Descanse tía. 💙🌈🙏🏽😢
