I’ve been evicted twice. I spent the first semester of college in a hotel room with my parents and older sister, using my meal plan to bring home fruit and snacks to get us through the week. And when I moved to NYC, I couldn’t afford to rent a decent apartment so I lived in an attic until I had the money saved. Where I rested my head at night hasn’t always felt like “home” but over time I made the right moves, and found the right guidance, to get me to where I’m at today. And if I could speak to that version of myself now, I’d tell him to trust his intentions, and keep working towards something great.
