Thursdays are Spelling Days! Gabe spelled: SAD REALITY STARS ABOVE WAITING FOR A MIRACLE We just started back at school on Tuesday from being on Spring Break in South Carolina. I knew it wouldn’t be easy for any of us to come home, especially Gabe. On his way to school this morning Gabe got emotional. Caroline called me after she dropped him off to fill me in. Then when I picked him up from school this afternoon I learned he was also emotional while in the lunch room. I asked his teacher what was going on. He said nothing unusual. Then we headed to see Ingrid. When we arrived Gabe ran to the building and then to the elevator. Effortlessly he picked the correct button to go up. Then while inside the elevator he chose to the correct floor. I have never seen this occur before. Once we got to Ingrid’s office I asked her if I could ask Gabe about what happened at school today. Why was he emotional? Gabe listened to me first as I repeated what his teacher told me and then he began to spell. SAD REALITY STARS ABOVE WAITING FOR A MIRACLE I started to cry as I realized what he was spelling and had to remind myself to be the adult. We asked him if he wanted to say more. He spelled: MY BODY HAVING NO CONTROL When he finished he was smiling and seemed happy. We told him that he is showing so much control!
