No matter where you are at in your life— if you’re on the right “timeline” or doing things your own way— someone will always, always have an opinion. Your life and the choices you make is not for the approval of others. For my second marriage at the age of 50, I got every comment you could think of. For a moment I actually considered just going down to city hall in a dress that wasn’t white. I’ve always loved weddings, and I hated the fact that I was feeling pressure to not celebrate my love for Ira the way I wanted to because of outside opinions. But then it clicked for me, those comments were just projections of what they’ve gone through and had absolutely nothing to do with me. So I did it anyways. The white dress, the party, all of it! It was the most special night and I don’t regret it one bit. 🤍
