LA bagels vs NYC bagels: a growing food debate over the last few years–particularly after a NYT critic declared in 2021 that California bagels had surpassed the world-famous NYC bagel scene. For what it’s worth, we really enjoy the crispiness of sourdough bagels, and the “fancy” toppings like salmon roe and ripe heirloom tomatoes, but for us it’s hard to beat the best New York bagels.
