I struggled with infertility and fertility treatments for almost a decade and a half. It was so hard seeing friends, family, and strangers get what I wanted so badly, so easily. It's hard not to become angry, jealous, and bitter and I honestly did. I had to walk away from my dream job as a neonatal nurse because the pain became too much to bear. I felt hopeless and like there was something wrong with me and I was being punished. In the Bible, James chapter 1 talks about trials or the testing of our faith. Sometimes God tests us, and other times stuff in the world happens, and we go through a test of whether we will choose God or the world. The Bible tells followers of Jesus to expect trials (John 16:33 and Acts 14:22). To not be surprised when things don’t always go our way. Infertility is a huge trial, and it’s one many people, including followers of Jesus, encounter. Infertility and trying to conceive can be a nasty, isolating beast that I believe the enemy uses to steal our joy, kill our intimacy with God and others, and destroy our hope. Pursue God before you get your happy ending, and see what unfolds. When we make God our number one priority, if our hope comes from Him and the future He wants for us, He will bring us out on the other side. I’m proof that God heals, does miracles, and still makes and keeps promises today. My rainbow baby is due in November 2024. The relief I had knowing she is doing so well and is growing right on time gives me so much peace💗 They said I won’t be able to hear her heartbeat until the second trimester due to the potential harm it could cause the baby. The reason that the heartbeat isn't listened to at first trimester ultrasounds is because it causes theoretical risk of fetal malformations. The "listening" mode is pulsed/spectral doppler, which can raise the temperature of the embryo. So it's avoided. You can measure the heartbeat with m "motion"-mode, which does not raise the temperature, so that's how they get the bpm. It is so weird to be back in the same hospital I used to work as a nurse delivering babies, the same hospital that ended my first pregnancy due to three ruptured ectopics, and now back as a PREGNANT and healthy patient! I will say this is the most excited I have ever been walking into this hospital🤗 I pray my story can give others hope to not give up no matter how hard it may get.
