Warm a little more than 1 liter of water to almost boiling 2. Pour about 100 mL of the hot water into the carafe to warm it up and then discard 3. Measure around 40 grams of illy finely-ground coffee and add to the carafe 4. Pour 100 mL of water into the carafe, making sure to saturate the coffee 5. Shake a bit to help the coffee bloom 6. Wait 20 seconds and then pour the remaining water in a circular motion up to the silver band 7. Stir 8. Set the plunger on top and wait 2.5 minutes to let the coffee steep 9.
