Want to learn to print your own book? In this mini series I’ll show you how to print your own paper back book and bind it from start to finish. Today we’re printing out the covers. I started out using the Canon Pixma TS3520 which was $50 on Amazon. I’m not sure if the price has changed, but for that price the quality is really good. I just upgraded to the Canon G3270 because of the cost of ink. It’s $149, but prints a lot more color prints before you need to change the ink. It’s also very important to use photo paper if your cover is full color. I use the Canon matte photo paper which is reasonably priced as well. Did you know that... most home sewing machines thread pretty much the same way? Once you learn how to thread a sewing machine it makes it soooo much easier to use other sewing machines no matter what the brand. A great tip is to look for the arrows or numbers on the sewing machine to guide you where to take the thread. When threading your top thread here’s a few things to remember: 1. Make sure the Take Up Lever is all the way up while threading. That’s the metal piece that bobs up and down while sewing. 2. Don’t miss putting the thread behind the thread guide right above the needle. 3. Cut your thread before trying to put it in the needle to make sure it goes through easier.
