READ FOR DETAILS Initially, we did waive some adoptions fees for cats who are “not so socialized” under our now discontinued Scardey Cat Program, but an influx of sketchy applications followed soon after launching the program. It became obvious that the only reason why people would apply for a semi-feral was because they didn’t have to pay. How would we know this is the only reason??Because once the program ended, none of the cats in the program had any more interest or inquiries. Additionally, we’ve had people straight up ignore us and leave once they found out they had to pay for the cat. NOW LETS GET INTO WHY THERE IS AN “ADOPTION FEE” All adoption fees act as a partial veterinary reimbursement to the medical care we give to our cats. We charge the absolute LOWEST we can as we DO NOT PROFIT off our residences. “But YOU get these cats for FREE” …sir…it cost us $1000+ to bring that cat back to life….and your fee is $125…please enlighten me as to HOW this cat is FREE for us?!?
