Bidding is now open for one of the largest mass sale of properties in Chicago since the Great Chicago Fire. This is an update to a story we told you about in November involving a suburban businesswoman, dubbed the "city's worst landowner." Suzie Wilson must sell more than 800 pieces of land after filing for bankruptcy. Wilson owes the city of Chicago more than $15 million in unpaid fines and fees. Most of the properties are vacant lots on the South and West sides, and many are in disrepair. The bidding for the properties, which is open now, has a deadline of March 7. #news #chicago #chicagonews

A SpaceX Starship broke apart during a test flight on Thursday, January 16 , as videos purporting to show its debris streaking across the sky over the Caribbean circulated online. SpaceX said the Starship “experienced a rapid unscheduled disassembly during its ascent burn,” and that “teams will continue to review data from today’s flight test to better understand root cause.” Elon Musk reposted one of the videos that was posted online, saying “success is uncertain, but entertainment is guaranteed.” Storyful has not confirmed that the videos circulating online show the debris from the Starship. Flight tracking site Flightradar24 said it tracked several flights in the Caribbean that were rerouted or diverted “to avoid any potential debris.” In a statement to Storyful, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said it “is aware an anomaly occurred during the SpaceX Starship Flight 7 mission that launched from Boca Chica, Texas,” and that it is “assessing the operation.” “The FAA briefly slowed and diverted aircraft around the area where space vehicle debris was falling. Normal operations have resumed,” the agency said. This footage was shot by Dean Olson, who said he took it while on vacation in Turks and Caicos. #news #spacex #starship #turksandcaicos #space
