12 years of marriage and he’s not fed up yet 🙃 This newly released grow light from @Barrina is on my TikTok shop 🙌 I shared a similar standing grow light before, but there’s been a few upgrades: 💡It’s no longer a tripod, so the light is more stable and takes up a smaller footprint 💡The height is adjustable up to 5.5 feet 💡Timer is included so you can easily automate the light’s schedule I was truly shocked that my Ficus Audrey was getting SO little sunlight right by the glass door 😵‍💫. This was truly a labor of love that took 8 months 😅 due to the spray painting, house move, and LIFE that happened in between, but it was worth it. Under normal circumstances, this project would take 2-3 days 😅. I didn’t put that many plants inside, but the humidity hitting over 80% shows that I did a pretty good job with weatherstripping. I’m so excited because my other IKEA greenhouse cabinet (Baggebo) is STUFFED and many plants are starting to outgrow it. I know have so much more room to grow with this larger Rudsta. I made a comparison video awhile back comparing all of the IKEA glass cabinets that can be converted into greenhouses. I chose the Rudsta due to its modern lines and straight legs, but there are a lot of options at different price points you can pick from! This acrylic shelf and pegboard set is truly the creme de la creme. I’ve seen most people with the Rudsta cabinet use magnetic spice racks to stick to the back of the metal cabinet for added shelving. With this pegboard setup, the shelving is much more flexible and I just love the sleek look of it. I could not be happier! It was super easy to install and the shelves come in various sizes and widths. This took me two full days ☠️. Now to be fair, I had a million interruptions between work and my two young kids who require to be fed every 5 minutes. I wouldn’t say this DIY project is hard, but it definitely is time consuming. Weatherstripping was definitely the trickiest to make sure any gaps are sealed well to hold in the humidity I require for the plants I plant to put inside this greenhouse. I do love the vertical grow light setup. I didn’t want every plant in here reaching up toward the light source at the top. By having the grow lights set up to face the leaves, all the plants will grow in a uniform fashion and face forward rather than up. Part 3 will reveal the BEST part of this IKEA greenhouse cabinet setup, which is the custom built shelves and pegboards along with the final look!
