How does lifting weight make you more defined? 🤔 Well, it’s actually a little deeper than that. When I first got into working out, I was told by my friend to use light weights to build more lean muscle to look toned and athletic. But actually, this isn’t the case at all. Lifting weights and training regularly builds muscle, regardless of if it is super heavy or light, it’s the same outcome. You build muscle. To maximize muscle though, you should be prioritizing lifting heavier because that constantly pushes you to grow. It’s like any sport. Playing basketball against people on your skill level makes you better, but not nearly as good as if you’re always playing against people better than you to challenge you. This doesn’t mean lifting way too heavy weights that you can’t just cuz though. But how to look lean or bulky has all to do with your body fat %, not if you lift heavy or light weights, which is controlled through your weight gain or loss and thus your diet. #4 is progressive overload, completely forgot to cover that! Basically tracking reps and weights and keeping my training split the same to be able to progressive overload over time and push myself past just going through the motions.
