He had a tool shed in his side yard and his landscapers noticed that he had some bees in there. Good thing they didn't try to open that tool shed because they would have gotten a massive surprise! When I opened that shed I found a colony of bees actively building honeycomb and although I couldn't find any brewed or eggs or even larvae I have to assume that this issue is most likely new since the bees went to the box as soon as I relocated the comb. All I had to do was hammer and pry the shutter open since it was attached by nails. Once I pride it open I realized that all the honey was attached to the face of the shutter. I had to chase all the bees off of the honey in order to drop that shutter down below otherwise I would fall off that ladder with 200 lb of honey and cause a serious problem for myself. The spray I use is what I like to call "liquid smoke". I don't use real smoke as it poses a fire risk. Smokers emit embers that can cause fires and with a firefighter background I try to avoid liabilities like that especially in California.
