A meal everyone will love made by my love ❤️Steak and now Grilled vegetables alla Mauro! Crispy, flavorful, and light! This is a summer time grill essential. It’s so easy and you can use whatever veggies you like! Our family favorite is scallions and that’s the one I recommend to everyone because it’s not super common to find on a menu or at someone’s bbq. When Mauro makes these we usually have them as a side with steaks or some kind of meat. For all of our vegan and vegetarian friends, another way we love to have it is between Italian bread, yes just like that. The olive oil, salt, garlic and of course the veggies come together so nice on the sandwhich. Also, the olive oil and salt help preserve the veggies so they last quite some time in the fridge! The best part about this dish is you can serve it hot or cold! We recommend a high quality extra virgin olive oil and the tik tok trick using a potato to clean the grill before! String Bean & Potato Salad, so simple, yet so delicious! The taste of the Parmesan, evoo, potatoes and string beans really come together so nicely to make this perfect side dish. Maddalena has been making this “salad” for years. It’s a staple during our summertime bbqs and the most requested side dish of the summer. The trick to this dish is a high quality extra virgin olive oil! You can have it cold or warmed up. We like it room temperature or a little bit on the cooler side during the warmer months. Pasta e Cucuzza/ Zucchini not Spaghetti Squash! There is a difference! My sister- in- law Lisa taught me this recipe and it’s been a staple at all her family get togethers ever since! I couldn’t find any good zucchini today so I used yellow squash. We met @Stephen Ruocco almost 14 years ago! He was on one of the earliest seasons of Cake Boss. Truly one of the best families out there, we are lucky to call them close friends. His two daughters, Bella & Gianna, his amazing wife Angela and of course Stephen run and operate Ruocco’s on 9 in Manalapan, NJ! If you live in the area it’s a MUST and if you don’t, make a date to go and check it out. I don’t like recommending restaurants because food is like art, subjective, but Ruocco’s restraunt is somewhere I know everyone will enjoy. It’s such a nice summer spot because of the outdoor area that’s shaded! We recommend the tripe, Braised Short-rib and ricotta gnocchi, artichoke francese, stuffed veal chop and the Pink Panther. The food is delicious because of the quality ingredients he uses such as locally sourced meat and produce. Also, he offers dishes like tripe, which is so hard to find nowadays on a menu. Most of the times when it is on the menu it’s not done correctly! Coming across a place like Ruoccos is far and few between today. It’s a good quality Italian restaurant where you can throw parties, go out to dinner, byob and they even have NJ wines. Trying to find a new venue or place to eat can sometimes be hard because you aren’t familiar with them but it’s always nice to change things up. My babydoll still isn’t feeling well! The upper respiratory infection is finally starting to heal but I’m still on kitchen duty!
