Don’t focus on stopping the panic. Instead focus your attention on regulating your body. The ice helps slow down your heads rate, and encourages deeper breaths all which are in opposition to the symptoms of panic. If you do it at the first sign of *Anxiety* not *Panic* it can help stop the panic attack from coming or reduce its overall intensity and duration. If you do it when you start to panic, it will take a little longer but will still reduce duration. One pro tip: let the flight attendants know ahead of time that you struggle with anxiety and panic and you can let them know that if you turn on the “call” button it means you need ice!
