Making Purah's shoes. Let's talk about the shoes - purah's shoes definitely don't have the strap around the ankle. For the longest time I tried to figure out if I could make the shoes without it, but i just knew that i wanted to make sure I could spend a whole con day walking in them without worrying about twisting an ankle. So I opted for these shoes where I spliced together different parts of the straps. I also decided to keep one of the straps the way they are, which meant the strap was wider on one end. I was just terrified that the shoe would eventually break on me if I cut any more straps so I just kept it how it is. Maybe one day ill find a better base to modify. I added eva foam overtop and then spray painted everything. Technically, I do have footage of me dyeing my tights (they were originally just white) but I don't have enough to make a video. Making Purah's ribbons ××× Not much to say about these - EVA foam and fabric! I wanted this piece to be removable so I can easily wash the main shirt if I needed to. The end caps of the ribbons are made of three layers of eva foam so that I could just slide in an glue the end of the ribbons in. I didn't film making the eva foam diamond because it was super late at night when I did it 😭 Fun fact though, I could've bought new fabric for these ribbons that would probably have been a closer match to the fabric colour 🥺 but I really wanted to use leftover fabric from my 2019 Purah. So these are actually really special because they have a piece of my original cosplay that also won me two awards.
