I’m so excited to (finally!) share more about our past couple of months- suffice to say, it’s been a busy, stressful, and very exciting adventure. While we’ve been in a happy place for the past couple of years, things weren’t ideal. I was spending too much time away from the pups while working, their space was smaller than I wanted, and daily walks were a challenge to find secluded spaces in a relatively crowded place. I wanted better for them, and for me. I wanted a place where we could be together as much as possible, while also furthering my career in wolf/Wolfdog education. In April, I learned that @missionwolfsanctuary in Colorado (my home state) was looking for new staff. I reached out to explain my situation, and things developed incredibly quickly and smoothly from there. Mission: Wolf is an incredible place, and to say they have been generous and accommodating to me and the pups would be an understatement. Here, Faelen and Maeve have 10x more space, and daily access to 20+ more acres of fenced playpen to run and explore. Seeing them bound through the Colorado mountains fulfills my wildest dreams. We’re surrounded by like-minded people with a passion for wolves, and the pups are free to be as social or shy as they wish. I am currently living onsite right beside them and never need to leave them for work! We are all truly so happy here. In addition to finding a wonderful home, I am privileged to be working for all the rescued wolves and wolfdogs at Mission: Wolf. Most do not have the happy backstory that Faelen and Maeve do. Helping them to heal and thrive is incredibly fulfilling. While much of my focus here is on animal care, I am also helping to educate visitors and continue to spread the message of Wolfdog awareness and educate about their needs. I am so grateful and excited to be a part of the Mission: Wolf team! While I am here, Faelen and Maeve are loved and cared for as Mission: Wolf animals. However, they are still my pups and always will be. If I ever leave here, they will come with me. Where I go they go, forever. I will continue to post their adventures as normal (much more often now that we’re settled!), and can’t wait to share as they continue to thrive and grow within the community here. Thank you all for following along and supporting us! I encourage you all to extend the love to @missionwolfsanctuary as well, and keep an eye on both our pages for more very soon ♥️🐺 . . . . . . . #wolfdog #wolfdogs #wolfdogeducation #wolfdogcommunity #wolfdogofinstagram #realwolfdog #wolfdoglove #wolfdogsanctuary #wolfdogrescue #wolf #wolves #highcontentwolfdog #midcontentwolfdog #greywolf #blackwolf #blackphasewolfdog #colorado #coloradolife #missionwolf #educationvsextinction
