This Garlic Confit & Goat Cheese Toast is 🔥 CONFIT pronounced “kawn-fee” is a traditional French cooking method. It originally referred to anything preserved by slowly cooking it in any liquid; fruits, for example, were confited in sugar syrup. However, currently it more likely refers to food that’s been slow-cooked in fat and not necessarily aged or stored. Though you can keep these garlic confit covered and refrigerated for about 2 weeks. INGREDIENTS 2 Garlic bulbs, ~15 bulbs 4 oz Herb goat cheese Sourdough bread, sliced 2 sprigs Thyme 1 cup Olive Oil 1/2 tsp Salt INSTRUCTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. Combine garlic and salt in a small baking dish and top it off with olive oil. Make sure not to overfill the dish as not to bubble over in your oven. NOTE- I overfilled mine at the beginning of the video. Do as I say, not as I do. 😉 2. Bake for 1.5 - 2 hours. 3. Toast a slice of sourdough bread. 4. Spread room-temperature goat cheese on the slice of sourdough toast, top with cloves of roasted garlic and spread.
