Yesterday our hearts were shattered at the sudden passing of our beloved Chachi during surgery. We never chose Chachi. Chachi chose us. We waited for his mum to give birth not knowing if we’d get the little boy we needed to add to our family. The breeder phoned us on May 6 2020 to let us know Delilah was giving birth. She gave birth to two girls and then Chachi. The breeder said “your little boy is here.” From the moment i held Chachi, i knew he was special. His energy was different to any other dog i’d had or met before. He became a part of our family without effort and the joy he brought to us and everyone he met was immediate and almost unbelievable. People instantly fell in love with him. He was never any trouble at home. There was no puppy stage with Chachi. It felt like he had been here before and just knew how to fit in. He gave us nothing but love, comfort and attention and of course many many laughs. He was a prankster. We always knew that he was a special soul and never took him for granted and he was extremely intelligent, we never had to tell him twice. He slept at the end of our bed. Switching from on top to underneath throughout the night at least 5 times! Last night we stayed awake crying. We’d go from recalling our happy memories to crying with so much grief we were in physical pain. Our home is not the same without him. Today we are walking around in disbelief and hoping he’ll pop out from somewhere. When he was about 7 months old he started to hide and scare me. He would wait outside the bedroom or bathroom doors and jump out on me. Then he worked out that scaring me from the top of the stairs was more effective… He even knew to tiptoe when his toe nails would make a noise on the wooden floor. He did this up until the day before we lost him. I haven’t gone down those stairs yet. Knowing that he won’t be there when i come back up burns my insides. My little Chachi will never jump out for me again 😭 We are grateful and overwhelmed with all the love and support you are sending our way from all over the world.
