What we thought was a total pumpkin patch loss was really not a complete loss. A few days ago my husband went to check out the patch and came back and told me that he though I might have some pumpkins down there. So I went down and sure enough there were some pumpkins! I waited until I had better clothes on for harvesting in thick weeds (and during baby copperhead season🥴) and went back to harvest them. The vines were covered in squash bugs and the weeds were horrible but we got lots of gourds and mini pumpkins and even a few big ones! It was exciting to find since I had written off the idea of getting anything. Last season totally spoiled us with pumpkins and this season barely had any but that’s how growing is. Every year different, every harvest is different, every season is different. Full of its own challenges and experiences.
