Hello NEW curriculum! When it comes to teaching, I always say you gotta start with knowing your curriculum. That why I printed & started reviewing what I have to teach before the school year started. Another thing I do is meet with my division partners. We got together the 1st week of school to figure it out & to create our long range plans so all the grade 7&8 classes are aligned. I’m getting use to the new literacy strands & thinking about fun ways to get through it. But I still have a lot of work to do in order to know it as good as I knew the old one. School Wide Community Building At the end of last year our students clearly expressed that they wanted the opportunity to build relationships with kids in other classes. So this year… WE DID IT! Every Friday this month we take all of the grade 7&8 outside & create mixed grade groups. The groups work together & compete in different games. The end result is everyone getting to know each other while having a great time.
