💦 THE TUB SPOUT 💦 Replacing your tub spout might be easy, or it might be a huge headache. But no matter what, you can do this! Your first step will be finding out what kind of tub spout connector you have. On the underside of the spout, you'll see an opening. If you see a set screw in the opening, you have a slip-fit type. If you don't, it's a threaded connector. When shopping for a new spout, remember these 2 things... 1) it should be either "universal" which means it can be used on slip-fit or threaded set ups OR have the same connector as your current spout 2) if your old spout has a diverter (the pull tab on the top that diverts water to the shower head) then replace it with a new diverter spout Stay tuned for a video on troubleshooting tub spout issues like what to do if the pipe is too long, too short, or too wiggly... there are so many situations you can run into, it deserves its own video 🤪. #homeimprovement #bathroom #tub #tubspout #howto #upgrade #houseprojects #househelp #homeowner #diy #tipsandtricks #repair #replace #shower #tubspoutdiverter #diverter #bath #bathtub #homemaintenance #homeremodel #bathroomremodel

Water heaters work hard for us everyday and really don't ask for a lot in return, so they often get neglected! Keep yours happy by doing yearly maintenance! 📝 Helpful Tips 📝 - ALWAYS cut power or gas to appliances before working on them! - Cut off a piece of an old garden hose and add a female hose adapter to one end. Keep it near your water heater to use it for maintenance. - Water in your water heater is, you guessed it, HOT. And so are all of the metal pipes and valves. Use caution (and gloves 😉) - The anode rod is a sacrificial metal rod that attracts corrosive elements in your water. Over time the rod will corrode away and need replacing. You'll notice it shorten and thin out. Refer to your user manual for replacement information! They are relatively inexpensive and easy to replace. - Be aware that there is probably a lot of settlement in the bottom of the tank which can cause issues with the drain valve. ⚒️ TOOLS ⚒️ - bucket - hose - towels - 1-1/16" socket - beaker bar - ratchet 🦺 SAFETY 🦺 - gloves - safety glasses #hometips #homemaintenance #homemaintenancetips #waterheater #waterheaterrepair #maintenance #anoderod #hotwater #water #plumbing #howto #didyouknow #tipsandtricks #homeowners #homeownertips #househacks #homeimprovement #themoreyouknow #diy #diyhouseprojects #episode17
