Did you know there are waterfalls in San Diego? On Christmas Eve we hiked Cedar Creek Falls for the first time and it was beautiful! A few things to note if you're planning on hiking this trail: Permits: The trail requires a permit which you can purchase online and they do check at the trailhead so be sure to grab one if you plan on doing this one! Hydrate: There is little to no shade besides when you get to the waterfall so be sure to bring plenty of water for you and your pup! Waterproof gear: There are three creeks you'll have to cross to get to the waterfall, so make sure you have the proper waterproof gear to help you get there! We highly recommend @Vessi waterproof shoes as they were actually way less slippery during the creek crossings than our hiking boots! (check our link in our bio for more info) Bring a towel too if your pup is anything like Oreo and will go for a swim. The Trail: This hike starts with a descent to get you to the beautiful waterfall and though it didn't feel like it was that steep, we really felt it on the way back up. I didn't realize how difficult this would be but we definitely needed to take breaks on the way up.
