There are so many beautiful souls sitting in kennels, just waiting to be seen. To be wanted. It doesn't seem anyone is seeing them or even knows they are there waiting. The dogs at the Rancho Cucamonga Animal care center are not getting regularly seen & they need help just like every other shelter dog in the system. Is there anyone near that area who can go on a regular basis to get the dog's faces out there in hopes of finding responsible adopters & reputable rescues help? While walking around visiting the dogs, I was asked multiple times by the staff what dog I was interested in or what rescue sent me to get videos. That led me to think that it must not be normal to see people there taking videos & it got me to thinking of the dogs' need for ongoing exposure. Some of these dogs have been waiting for families since November & they could really use the help getting their faces out there. I see all your dm's expressing concern for the Devore dogs during this especially cold weather & walking the kennels yesterday made me realize how badly the dogs need us to show up for them when they need it the most. With that said, I'd like to start a blanket fund dedicated solely to regularly donating blankets to Devore during these winter months. IF you guys are in agreement, I'd like to do this weekly so even if the blankets the shelter currently has have to be thrown away after use, there will never be a time that they do not FOR SURE have a replenishment available to them. Here's what I'm thinking to do. As you know, not only do I regularly visit the shelter for videos, but because of this work I also run a 501(c)3 @crustycrewrescue Starting today (Tuesday January 9th) I will be running a fundraiser to buy blankets to be donated to the shelter this coming weekend. This 1st donation time period will close on Friday at 4pm (January 12th). This weekend, with the funds donated I will be buying blankets the shelter can use ( blankets have to be sizes that fit into a washer designed for a home as that is what they currently have to use). Videos will be posted of what we are able to purchase as well as the drop off. If we can get something going on a regular basis, there should be no reason for the dogs not to have blankets. This is my hope anyway & we don't know until we try! 🤞 If you want to participate by donating blankets you already have, dm me & we can coordinate pick up before the initial drop off to the shelter if you would like.
