On August 3, 2013, 17-year-old Alexis Tiara Murphy disappeared after being seen at a gas station in Lovingston, Virginia. Her car was found on August 6, where it had been abandoned in a theater parking lot. 48-year-old, Randy Taylor, was investigated as one of several people who appeared on the gas station's surveillance video. The police searched Randy’s camper, which was located near the gas station. They found a strand of Alexis’s hair, a torn fingernail, and a diamond earring stud belonging to Alexis.
