Because scans on photo paper fade over time and quicker when exposed to light especially really bright rooms. Trust me I learnt this myself and then I researched into it to learn it was actually a thing. I had one of my scans up in our kitchen and within 6 months it was a really light yellow/orange colour and noticeably faded.
