There were workers on the site at the time when the fire started. Fortunately no injuries or causalities have been reported. The heavy fire is contained to two metal buildings. The fire department determined there were no hazardous chemicals on the property; thus, Hazmat units were not deployed to the scene. The fire is still actively burning. The fire is expected to burn multiple days. At this point the fire is too hot for the firefighters to enter the buildings. Because of the intensity of the fire, approximately 100 firefighters with multiple units from surrounding communities are at the scene managing the situation. Response time from the firefighters arriving at the scene was approximately 10 minutes. At this time, there is no information on the cause of the fire. Because of the rural location, water has to be shuttled to the scene. Shuttles are required to supply water to the fire scene by traveling to distant fire hydrants and then transporting to the scene of the fire. The chicken farm is located in a rural area outside of Dallas, Texas. The caves were so intricate that they had murals, floor tiles and one even had a fireplace with a chimney.
