Step one is to build a credible portfolio to bring in the desired business. You must have something a client can look forward to! 2. WHAT YOU PROMOTE IS WHAT YOU ATTRACT I realized after doing hair in this period of time is that the aesthetic of my page actually attracted a specific kind of clientele. Everything down to the music you use on your reels, your background, and the service you’re promoting will attract a specific clientele. Does your work give “quality”? Or “for the low” ? 3. STOP USING EXCESSIVE FILTERS ON YOUR WORK The Paris filter does not improve the look of your work…. It blurs out the detail and quality. Viewers like detail. 4. PUT YOUR SELF RESPECT OVER BUSINESS I guarantee you, this will benefit you in the long run. Never let clients or business owners use you or think they have that power over you when it comes to money. They will take advantage of you if you allow them. 5. YOU WILL MAKE MISTAKES Doing hair will always be a learning experience. Even if you feel you’ve mastered something, that something will always prove you wrong. Don’t take mistakes as failure. Learn from them! It’s best you mess up now than later. 6. ONLY REAL WAY TO LEARN IS TO DO! Self explanatory. Cosmetology is deeper than a textbook. It’s like learning to build a house.
