Tunnel of Love is up for your photographing and reel-making pleasure. Some history: Vault doors and safety deposit boxes came from a First National Bank at 510 Locust that was built in the mid-1800s. When the building was gutted in 2001, City Museum removed these steel & brass structures piece-by-piece. The 20 tons of steel plates making up the middle of the vault doors were not reassembled to reduce weight and were repurposed, cut apart, and used as stair treads for the Bulldozer staircase in MonstroCity. #stlouis #citymuseum #weirdlywonderful #explore
