(¿qué quieres decir?) - doing something with intention "I didn't mean to leave my keys at home, it was an accident!" "Did you mean to copy me into this email?" - explanation or cause of something "The bad weather means we will have to call off the event" "Does this mean we can't see him anymore?" #learnenglish #valencia #savvyenglish #Madrid #ingles #aprendeingles #vocabulary

Did you get 5/5? 👇 EXPLANATION Regular verbs in the past tense are difficult to pronounce we have 3 possible endings 🤯 "t", "d" and "id" BUT when do we use them? 🗣 "t" - when the infinitive verbs ends in a voiceless sound like... "s" "sh" "k" "ch" "p" etc ⚠️ put your hand on your voice box and you WON'T feel a vibration push - pusht stop - stopt like - laikt watch - watcht 🗣 "d" - when the last sound of the infinitive verb is VOICED (your voice box vibrates) "ai" "i" "n" for example open - opend cry - craid happen- happend empty - emptid AND FINALLY 🗣 "id" (the only one with the extra syllable) we add this sound when the infinitive verb ends in a "t" or "d" sound accept - akseptid create - krieitid pretend - pretendid Got it??? 🤞 #learnenglish #pronunciation #ingles #aprendeingles #regularverbs #savvyenglish #valencia #Madrid

What's the difference between stand, bear and put up with? All of them could be translated to AGUANTAR or SOPORTAR (if you speak Spanish) BUT we don't always use them in the same context so let me explain... I can't stand it - I'm frustrated I can't bear it - I'm emotional I can't put up with it (anymore) - I'm at my limit and I need to do something #verbs #english #grammar #learnenglish #ingles #savvyenglish #valencia #madrid
