Another week on the road but this time without the RV due to the campground not being open yet for the year. First, our most common question… the 💰: Lake Ouachita Is about 300 miles away and not taking the RV more than doubled our expenses for the week 🤪 🏡 Cabin rental for 7 nights: $1400 🛒 Groceries for 7 days of cooking and meals for two: $350 🥘 Dining out $40 (Texas Roadhouse to go for Valentines Day) Total cost of travel: $1790 (RV cost would have been about $700) 🏠 Cabin Pros and Cons: ✔️ super clean ✔️ very convenient if tournament is at Brady Rec Area ✔️ Furnished well in kitchen and linens ✔️Boat parking for one was adequate ✔️ Host was super responsive ✔️Fresh Towel service available daily Cons 👎🏼 No to very little cell service (with 3 providers) and No internet/wifi except at camp store/restaurant. This is fine if you want to unplug but if would have been great to know ahead of time so we could have brought starlink dish and planned accordingly. The bed in bedroom is a queen, not very comfy and noisy. And not noisy like that (pervert) but like if you even roll over it is super loud so with 2 adults and 2 dogs it was restless nights lol. Darold slept on the couch a lot during the week because It was much more comfortable lol.
